Medinex 2025: key healthcare focus areas and strengthening international cooperation

On 1 November, the 27th Azerbaijan International Medical Innovations Exhibition Medinex 2025 concluded its work at the Baku Expo Centre. One of the key events in Azerbaijan’s healthcare sector successfully brought together medical professionals, healthcare executives, entrepreneurs, distributors and investors.

Rasim Ismayilov, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, noted in his opening speech the importance of this event for the innovative development of the national healthcare system. Akhliman Amiraslanov, Chairman of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, stated that the wide representation of various medical fields at the exhibition reflects its high status.

According to Vugar Gurbanov, Chairman of the Board of the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TƏBİB), electronic queue systems will be implemented in most medical institutions in Azerbaijan by the end of this year.

Viktor Liashko, Minister of Health of Ukraine, visited Medinex, familiarised himself with the exposition and took part in a bilateral session titled “From Dialogue to Cooperation: Pharmaceutical Opportunities of Ukraine and Azerbaijan”.

Companies from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Oman, Poland, the Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Ukraine took part in the exhibition. Medinex covered key areas of medicine and healthcare, including medical equipment and devices, information technologies in medical services, pharmaceuticals, vitamins and dietary supplements, orthopaedic products, prosthetic technologies, dental equipment and services, ophthalmological and optical devices, innovative laboratory technologies and more.

During the exhibition, representatives of foreign companies discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijani specialists, including joint investments, technology transfer and the expansion of business relations.

As part of the exhibition, B2B and B2G meetings were held, providing real opportunities for the development of both international and local partnerships.

The business programme served as an important addition to the exhibition and attracted numerous healthcare professionals, including both local and international experts. In the presentation area, panel discussions, presentations and seminars on current topics were held. Visitors were introduced to the latest medical technologies and took part in practical training aimed at increasing medical knowledge.

The main business agenda of the exhibition focused on innovations and current trends in the development of medicine and healthcare, including the introduction of artificial intelligence into medical processes and the role of modern information technologies in medical practice.

Over three days, the presentation zone hosted expert sessions on “Cell and Gene Therapy”, “New Horizons in the Treatment of Brain Tumours”, “Endocrinology: Diabetes Mellitus and Diabetes Insipidus”, as well as a seminar on “Multidisciplinary Treatment of Haemophilia”. Case sessions were also organised on key topics of modern medicine, along with training seminars, including “Calgary–Cambridge Model: International Standards of the First Consultation” and “Patient Journey: The Foundation of Effective Management of a Modern Private Clinic”.

During the BLS (Basic Life Support) training, participants received practical and educational materials, learned the key principles of safe and effective first aid, and strengthened essential emergency response skills. The training aimed to enhance medical literacy and improve public safety in the field of healthcare.

State officials and VIP guests of the exhibition noted the importance of Medinex as a platform for introducing medical professionals to new technologies, strengthening existing partnerships and establishing new ones.
