Azerbaijani Railways (ADY) and International Railway Chengdu" are negotiating on how to develop the "central corridor" of the Economic Belt of the Silk Road running through Azerbaijan.
ADY reported that its chair Javid Gurbanov held talks in Baku with Chinese deputy director general Zhang Jing.
During the meeting Mr. Jing confirmed China’s interest in the use of the Azerbaijani corridor for the supply of its products to Turkey and Georgia, and if possible to Eastern Europe and the Middle East as well.
In other words, China does not see Azerbaijan as an alternative to other corridors of the export zone and a transit country in the direction to Western Europe.
